KAINOS EXPERIENCE – 2024
‘Community lifestyle immersion in the beautiful Gospel’
OUTLINE INFORMATION
The Kainos Experience is intended to help people who have discovered the freedom of the ‘Finished Works’ gospel of grace to immerse themselves in some established faith communities, to learn more, and to learn about relating together in community life. It will also be a lot of fun!
This would involve spending three weeks in three locations, in the UK, Switzerland and USA, and then
ending up immersing two weeks with a community & mission in Mexico (11 weeks total).
13 July – 3 Aug Wellsprings Community, Edinburgh, Scotland: here the group would stay together in the Wellsprings building, sharing cooking etc. As well as practical input and teaching there would be time withvarious members of the community. The last week would involve helping set up and running ‘Glory in the Cowshed’ in a converted barn in the centre of Scotland, at Comrie Croft in beautiful, rural Perthshire (a three-day event involving worship, creativity, contemplation and grace)
3 Aug – 24 Aug Bern West community, Bern, Switzerland: the group would live with households and get involved in their daily lives, and gather for worship, input and Q&A times. There would probably be a Glory Festival over the weekend 10-11 Aug. In evenings, you can enjoy Bern in summer, join locals for swimming, barbeques and so on, visit different families, communities, support community events (Kids / Teens programs, parties with neighbors, coffee shop…. )
24 Aug – 14 Sept Hillside Community, Fort Wayne, USA: students will stay with host families and possiblyan additional airbnb, within the Fort Wayne Glory community. The group will join in the many organized and spontaneous activities of the community, including table fellowship, worship, meals together, and street outreach. We will have a few intentional teaching and Q & A sessions with students as well fromexperienced Grace & Glory ministers. We will end our time together traveling overland to Ponca, Nebraskafor our Kainos Koinonia gathering of worldwide folks who love Gospel community. (This travel & lodging to be discussed with each student.)
14 Sept – 28 Sept Mexico: students will be immersed in the Iglesia Espejo church community of Tijuana, engaging with them in their regular activities, serving in their Grace atmosphere, and then engaging in many different kinds of mission, from homeless outreach to ministry to prostitutes. Spanish is not required.
After the program has ended, we intend holding a monthly or bimonthly zoom call with all participants, to foster connection and continue to grow together in our understanding of living out the Beautiful Gospel in a community setting.
WHAT IS INCLUDED: Input and teaching at the various locations, plus accommodation.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Air tickets between locations and any visas required (travel to be coordinated as much as possible), food (this may depend on the location) and some local travel. Spending money and travel insurance.
COST: $2200 for the program plus your own travel and food.
COURSE REQUIREMENT: We will ask that all participants will have already taken (or agree to take prior to coming) a course on the Trinitarian gospel, either by Dr. C. Baxter Kruger, John Crowder, Matt Spinks or attended the Cana Seminary, or an approved equivalent discussed during application. We will also require a reference.
